Highlights:
-We made buddy cards and it is Miss B's last day with us. :( - Jake
-Mrs. Sticksl gave us ornaments as a gift. We got to decorate them with stickers, beads, feathers and string. - Piya
-In our Circle Meeting we thanked Miss B for teaching us. - Kenan
-It is the last day of school of 2017. - Henry
-In Phys Ed, we our last class. We played the "Last Man Standing" but instead we had teams and there were mats everywhere! - Aishwarya
-We had Music. In Music, when I came in everyone clapped! - Lindsey 
-We had buddies! We gave them our cards and we had so many different stations to pick from! - Dane

Reminders:
-Tomorrow is the first day of the winter break. Please have a relaxing and fun-filled holiday.

Highlights:
-We made a suspension bridge and put marbles in a cup to see how strong it was. We did the same thing with the beam bridge. - Marley and Maycee
-We had art. We did our Weaselhead animals. - Jake
-In writing, we did our animal poetry. - Henry 
-We made bridges. The highest someone got was 104 marbles. - Adam
-We had Phys Ed. and we did parachute. - Claire
-In Math, we did winter subtraction problems. We continued on working on math strategies. - Piya 

Monday, Dec 11th, 2017

Highlights:
-We created bridges out of lego (Mrs. Sticksl's class). - Jake
-You can make a beam strong and stable by making the beam thick. - Hassan
-We can put more columns. - Kenan
-We did Oral Storytelling. - Bareera
-In Math, we did winter subtraction. - Haaris 
-At lunch time, we had choir. - Jenny
-We had Literacy. Some people did Read to a Partner, and read two books to look for things that are the same and different. - Gwen
-We had the story of "The Night Before Christmas." Before we read the story, we looked for symbols of the holidays in commercials. - Dane
-In Miss B's class, we learned about different things can work at fasteners. - Jai

-Stephen's Backpack club is tomorrow from 3:50 - 5 pm.
-Choir forms need to be returned for the Dec 19th field trip. You can wear Christmas gear to choir to celebrate the season!

Highlights:
-We did "Thriday Journals" - Dane
-In Math, we did the number line strategy for subtraction. - Kenan
-In Miss B's class in Math, we went on a website and looked at the stacking strategy for subtraction. - Kenyon
-We made snowflakes at the end of the day. - Jeanny
-We had Circle of Courage meeting. - Carter
-In Phys Ed., we played "Indiana Jones" with the kinball. - Piya
-In Music, we did the the verse of Jingle Bells. - Ella
-In Music, we also practiced melodies. - Lindsay
-In Miss B's math class, we worked in groups and gave each other really hard math problems to solve. - Jai 
-We had "Read to a Partner" in Literacy. On Monday, we are going to have a page to do for to look at what two books have in common and what is different. - Gwen
-In Music, we did Christmas Carols. - Marley

-Stephen's Backpack Club is on Tuesday from 3:50 - 5 pm, for those student who signed up.
-Tomorrow is a PD day there is no school.
-Thriday journals are coming home, please bring them back to school on Monday. 
-On Saturday, there is the Holiday Market at 1pm.

Highlights:
-We started building for the Ingenuity Challenge (Miss B's group). We are building a body for our "Candy Robot." - Henry
-Today we had buddies. We did the finishing touches on our holiday cards. - Jake
-We did the T-shirt factory problem. We had to pick out a red card with a number (How many shirts and what company was ordering them). Then we had subtract from our total.  - Dane
-We had 3 choices in Literacy - Work on Writing, Read to Self and Read to a Partner. - Zain
-In Phys Ed., we did the train game with kin ball. - Hassan 
-In the Ingenuity Challenge (Mrs. Sticksl's group) we solved the problem "too hot in the gym." We picked a shoulder fan to invent. - Marley 
-At lunch we had choir. - Maycee

-On Saturday there is a Holiday Market. Please see this post for more information: 
-Stephen's Backpack club is next Tuesday. If you would like to participate a form was sent home. Please return the form by tomorrow. 
-Friday is a PD day. Students have no school. 
-Please return all Friday journals by tomorrow! We will be doing "Thriday Journals" (Thursday + Friday = Thriday)

Stephen's Backpacks 

We will be accepting donations for Stephen's Backpacks until the end of the school week, (Thursday, December 7th). A special 'Thank You' to our Royal Oak families for your generosity. At the heart of every donation is the desire to make a difference in one child's life. 

*Students who expressed interest in joining Stephen's Backpack Club will be bringing home forms for permission to participate. 

• The club will take place on Tuesday, Dec 12th from 3:50 - 5 pm.
• Permission forms are due this Thursday, Dec 7th.
